Honesty moment: I got upset at the hand and tried to do a cover up of it, that part didn't turn out that great. I'm happy with the rest, however, it did take me about four tries till I got to a pose and sketch that I thought looked good over all and that I was happy with. I looked up a few tutorials on drawing female heads and faces so that I could get a "refresher course" on faces. It was nice to have something to look at instead of pulling straight from my imagination. I think my favorite part of this drawing is the eyeshadow and hair. I hope everyone had fun with their character, I did. Sure, it took a few tries and a little frustration. But once I started getting to what I liked, I was happy and starting to get excited about art all over again.

Disney Art Challenge: Update
Here is a snap shot of my finished Pocahontas.
Disney Art Challenge
I'm really big into Disney movies, I especially love the live action ones. My favorites right now are Read It and Weep and The Teen Beach Movie, and my animated favorites are Pocahontas and Dumbo. I thought as something to get the mind going I could do a little challenge, it may be a little early but I just want to loosen up and have a bit of fun. I mean that's what art really is about, fun!
Here's the break down, pick any one, or a few, of your favorite Disney characters. You could pick your favorite princesses, animals, or live action characters. Think of how you would describe them, jot down a few good points, try not to be too exact.
Example:
Pocahontas
When you're done, you can e-mail your picture if you want me to post it in my art gallery :) I'd love to see what you come up with. I'm going to post my finished picture soon as well, promise.

Welcome My Fellow Starving for Art Artist
Follow me on my journey to learning on how draw, all over again. A new perspective on art, everything from pencil sketches to digital art work. I fell out of drawing while I was pregnant, so basically I haven't seriously been drawing for almost a year. I used to draw what seemed all every day all day, but let's face it. As we get older, we have more things to do. And for moms there is more then enough daily work cut out for us. But, I miss drawing more then anything, so I'm going to dive head first. Start all over. Learn from the great masters and the every day artists. Let's learn together! I'll post about everything I learn once a week and your input and experience is more then welcome. I'm going to explore as many mediums as I can and as many different styles as possible for me.
